Copy and paste this code snippet in the <head> of your site:
<script src="https://script.easycookiebox.com/easycookiebox.js"></script>
The "head" is a part of your website (invisible to your visitors) that is loaded on all pages of your site. It contains information for the search engines, but also scripts that perform certain functions.
Where you can find the "head" of your site (the place to paste the line of text), is different for every CMS or SiteBuilder.
For the most popular systems such as WordPress, Joomla, TopSite, Wix, Weebly and SquareSpace and Jimdo we explain exactly how to find the head of your site and paste the code snippet.
If you have a different system, you can find out how to get to the "head" of your site in the Frequently Asked Questions of that system. Or on Google.
After you past it, you probably have to publish. Then visit your website and you will see that EasyCookieBox works immediately. You may have to refresh the page.
Maybe you will not succeed in 30 seconds, but more than a few minutes it will certainly not take. :-)
WordPress (method 1)
WordPress does not allow you to paste the code in the head section of your site in their standard interface. In some cases you can paste the code in the head of your Theme. In other cases, you must first install a plug-in called "Insert Headers & Footers" which you can get here for free: https://wordpress.org/plugins/insert-headers-and-footers
Then go to Settings -> Insert headers and footers in your WP admin dashboard and paste the code snippet into the 'Scripts in head' section of the plug-in. Click Save and you're done. Go to your live website, refresh it and see EasyCookieBox in action.
WordPress (method 2)
If you know how FTP works, there's an even easier way to add EasyCookieBox to your WordPress site.
Download this zip file and unpack it. You'll see a folder that contains one file: ecb.php. Now upload this folder, containing the file, via FTP and put it in your wp-content folder. EasyCookieBox will now be displayed on your site automatically.
Joomla
After logging in, go to Extensions -> Theme management and choose the Theme that is currently in use on your site. Select the index.php file and paste the above fragment immediately after or under <head>. Then click on save and refresh the page to see EasyCookieBox in action.
WIX
After logging in, go to Site -> Site Manager -> SEO and paste the code snippet into the "Header code - Metatags" field. Close the pop-up screen and publish your site. Then go to your live website, refresh it and see EasyCookieBox in action.
Weebly
After you have logged in and clicked Edit Site, go to Settings, SEO and scroll a bit until you see the Header Code field. Paste the code snippet into this field. Click Save, and then click Publish. Go to your live website now, refresh it and see EasyCookieBox in action.
Squarespace
After logging in, click on Settings, Advanced, Code injection. Paste the code snippet into the HEADER field. Click Save. Go to your live website now, refresh it and see EasyCookieBox in action.
TopSite
After logging in, click Settings, Header HTML and paste the code snippet into the Header HTML field. Click on save. Click Publish. Go to your live website, refresh it and see EasyCookieBox in action.
Jimdo
After logging in, go to Settings> Website> Edit Head in the menu. Paste the code snippet into the Header HTML field. Click on save. Refresh the page and see EasyCookieBox in action.
Other
If you use another site builder or CMS and you do not know how to get to the field where you can paste the code snippet into the HEAD section of your website, please consult the help files from your site builder / cms or google it or contact with your provider for instructions.
In some cases, the CookieBox does not appear in the live site for some reason. Here are
a few ways to make sure it works.
1) Did you publish your site after you pasted the code in the head section?
2) Did you refresh the page?
3) Some browsers can keep an old version of your site in the cache and show it to you
while your visitors see the correct version with the active EasyCookieBox. You can clear
the cache of the browser or open your website in a browser that you usually do not use
and then check it again.
4) In some CMSs / Site builders you may have to place the code snippet in the <body>.
5) In some cases, you may need to remove the " quotation marks from the code snippet.
6) Some sitebuilders set extra quotation marks " when you paste the code. Please check to see and if needed, remove one of the extra " on both the left and right of the code snippet.
If you did all this and it's still not working, something else may be wrong. In that case please contact us at support@easycookiebox.com so we can check things on our end.
If you've bought the Pro version, you can enter and edit the Privacy Policy page URL in the Pro Design Form.
If you've bought the default EasyCookieBox, you were given the opportunity to enter the URL of your Privacy Policy Page in the order form. This should work out of the box.
In case you forgot to enter that URL or didn't have one at the time, you can still make it work. Here are some pointers:
If you didn't provide a link in the order form, the EasyCookieBox will link to /privacypolicy and, as it were, pastes your domain name in front of it. So the link goes to Yourdomainname.extension / privacypolicy
1. If you already have a privacy page and the url of that page is exactly /privacypolicy, the link works automatically and you do not have to do anything. You can check that just to be sure.
2. If you already have a privacy page and the url of that page is NOT exactly /privacypolicy, you can change the url of that page to /privacypolicy or create a redirect to it or make a copy of that page under the url /privacypolicy, so that the link will work.
3. If you do not have a privacy page, you have to make one, because that is an obligation of the GDPR. On this website you will find a free Privacy Statement Generator. Put the privacy statement on a page of your site and give that page the url /privacypolicy.

On this website you will find a free Privacy Statement Generator. Put the privacy statement on a page of your site and give that page

You can do that here:

Log in with your domain name and the pincode you provided when you ordered EasyCookieBox Pro.
The Multilingual version of EasyCookieBox shows the text in the language set in the browser. If yours is set to English, the text will be displayed in English, regardless of the language of the page you're on.
You can test this fairly easily by (temporarily) changing the default language of your browser to French or German or so and then refreshing your site.
Although you can copy-paste the code snippet in any site, it will only work when the payment is made to us.
This goes for first time payments as well as renewal payments.
If you have never paid for EasyCookieBox before, you can order it on this website and it will work immediately after your purchase (as it is already on your website).
If you have paid before, the renewal of your subscription probably failed. For which you should have received several emails. Please contact us at support@easycookiebox.com so we can help you get your renewal payment in order.
Please send us an email at support@easycookiebox.com and we'll help you :-)
